Dr Mei graduated with first-class honours in Medicine from Monash University in 2009. She then went on to complete 7 years of Specialist Physician training — including 3 years of Basic Physician Training in Internal Medicine, followed by 4 years of Advanced Physician Training in Clinical Nutrition & General Medicine at both The Alfred Hospital and Monash Medical Centre.
While at The Alfred Hospital, she gained extensive experience in various acute medical specialities including Cardiology, Trauma, and Perioperative medicine.

Dr Mei also works in public hospitals — as a Obesity Physician & Clinical Nutrition Physician at Monash Health, and as a General Medicine Physician at Alfred Health, two of the largest metropolitan public hospital networks in the state of Victoria, Australia.
RESEARCH
Dr Mei is actively involved in cutting-edge research, particularly in the field of obesity. She has numerous publications in Australian and international peer-reviewed journals, including the Australian Journal of General Practice (AJGP) and the International Journal of Public Health Research. She is also a peer reviewer for obesity research for the Australian Journal of Primary Health.
Her research has been presented at Australian and international obesity conferences, including the 2017 Joint Scientific Meeting of the Australian & New Zealand Obesity Society (ANZOS) and the Obesity Surgery Society of Australia & New Zealand (OSSANZ) in conjuction with the Asia Oceania Association of Studies for Obesity (AOASO).
In addition, Dr Mei completed a Master of Public Health degree at the University of Melbourne, graduating with first-class honours.. Doing so has enabled her to expand her knowledge and skills in health promotion and obesity management at a population and global level.
